Have you carried out work which has made a difference to patient safety? If so, could you enter it for an award?
The HSJ (Health Service Journal) Patient Safety Awards 2022 is now open for entries. There are 24 awards under four key areas:
• Clinical and Specialist excellence — which includes categories for a rapid response initiative, improving care for children and young people, improving care for older people and a learning disability initiative.
• Enacting organisation-wide change — which includes an award for a quality improvement (QI) initiative.
• Proactive prevention and harm avoidance — with this area including an award for improving medicines management.
• Service/system innovation — which includes a category for a virtual or remote care initiative.
The HSJ Patient Safety Awards help drive improvements in culture and quality across the NHS by celebrating the teams and the people putting safety first. This year, the awards includes seven new categories which reflect the amazing work which has been carried out during the pandemic.
So if you, your team or your service has carried out work or a project which has made a difference to delivering patient safety, please do think about entering.
Entries will be reviewed against five criteria which are ambition, outcome, spread, value and involvement of stakeholders.
If you enter and are later shortlisted, please do get in touch with our communications, so the news can be shared.
