Get involved in research

Do you have a research idea which could result in better patient care?

If so, you could join the Research Champions Programme at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT).

The trust is currently advertising for its fourth cohort, who will start in September. The programme is aimed at frontline health and social care staff who may have little research experience and have an idea which could provide improved care.

KCHFT works with the Centre of Health Services Studies at the University of Kent, which provides workshop days and academic supervision to support the champions with their development. The research champions are backfilled 24 days, over 12 months. This gives them the chance to focus on their chosen questions, as well as take part in the various activities the programme offers, to improve their skills.

There are 10 funded places available for KCHFT colleagues. The programme is also open to applications from health and social care organisations across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Interested external applicants will need funding support from their organisation to apply. To find out more, please email Bethany.baldock@nhs.net
