A second Medsavvy event has taken place, with the aim of improving the administration of medicines.
The first Medsavvy was at Tenterden in the summer and the second took place at Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital in Herne Bay. The latest event was attended by 24 colleagues from Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) including clinicians from the community hospitals, as well as pharmacists and quality improvement representatives. It included workshops, presentations and educational games.
Medsavvy is one of the trust’s quality improvement projects.
The project aims to encourage colleagues to improve their knowledge of medicines, share their experience and knowledge with their teams and colleagues, to discuss a drug of the week and to reduce and prevent medicinal waste.
The events have been such a success that a third Medsavvy is to be organised.
