Gold star award for working with carers

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) has achieved stage one of the Triangle of Care (ToC) accreditation, which recognises work carried out to involve patients and carers in services and in the care of their loved ones.

Carers Trust initially launched the scheme across mental health trusts and KCHFT is the first community health trust (non-mental health) to sign up to ToC.

Sharing the news of the accreditation, Carer’s Trust praised the trust’s approach to working with carers and training for clinicians and services to approach conversations with carers compassionately.

KCHFT’s Director of Participation, Experience and Patient Engagement, Ali Carruth, said: “Carers play such a vital role in our services and we are delighted to be given this first-stage accreditation for our work to involve carers.”
