Our Head of Clinical Audit and Research, Dawn Nortman, is to be one of the speakers at a national conference.
The annual Clinical Audit Leadership Summit brings together clinicians and managers leading local clinical audit for improvement and this year takes place in Birmingham on Wednesday, 16 October.
The conference will include national updates, case studies and in depth skills development sessions, with speakers including leading practitioners, clinicians, and policy makers.
Dawn will talk about:
- balancing quality assurance and quality improvement (QI)
- the Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) QI journey
- integrating QI into the clinical audit process
- identifying and focussing on priority areas for meaningful improvement
- synchronising quality assurance and quality improvement for potential projects
- supporting junior doctors, nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) to focus on quality improvement that will make a difference.
Clinical audit is a quality improvement process which seeks to improve patient care and outcomes. It’s a way to find out if healthcare being provided is in line with standards and lets care providers and patients know where their service is doing well and where improvements could be made.
