A new approach to triaging referrals released up to two to three hours a day for patient-facing care and increased patient contacts.
The Community Neuro Rehab Team (CNRT) in west Kent introduced administrative support and a referral checklist to reduce the time clinicians spent on non-clinical triage tasks. The changes reduced clinician triage time by 30 to 40 per cent while maintaining safe and timely clinical decision-making.
As a result, clinicians were able to spend more time with patients and improve the efficiency of the triage process.
