Colleagues from two services at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) enjoyed a one-day quality improvement course to find out more.
The training day took place at the Alexander Centre in Faversham and was for 30 colleagues from adult speech and language and clinical nutrition and dietetics.
A second event is also to be held for the services, so that as many colleagues as possible can attend.
Head of Service Improvement Sarah Donovan and Head of Quality Governance and Professional Standards Specialist and Elective Services Katie Ring led the day. They were supported by two of the trust’s quality, service improvement and redesign (QSIR) practitioners Martyne May, adult speech and language therapy quality lead and Hazel Toraman, clinical services manager home enteral nutrition.
Trudie France, KCHFT’s Head of Adult Speech and Language Therapy and Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, said: “I wanted to roll this out to colleagues in all roles, so they can take ownership of quality improvement. I want to give them the confidence to make changes, using the QI methodologies and tools.”
